Mille’s 100wc #25

I walked into the chocolate shop and thought about what type of chocolate I should buy. When mum came she wanted me to by the Cadbury chocolate eggs. I was looking at all that chocolate on one of the shelves. There was just so much chocolate everywhere in the shop. I decided I wanted the chocolate bunny. Just when I was about to grab the last chocolate bunny a boy ran in front of me and took it. Mum was angry, but the boy had already payed. We walked home very disappointed without any chocolate. No chocolate for me this Easter.

This week we have a special prompt provided by World Vision which is an organisation that helps people in areas of famine and disaster to help themselves.

This is Andualem.

Andualem is 12 and he lives in Ethiopia. He’s tucking into a big plate of his favourite food, injera. Injera is a special Ethiopian pancake that you eat with your hands – you tear off a strip, dab it in spicy sauce, and then try to get it in your mouth before you drop any!

Injera is also a meal that you share with your family and friends – it often comes on a big plate so that everyone can gather round and enjoy it at the same time.

Right now, children all over the world are hungry, because they don’t have enough food to eat, but there is enough food to feed everyone if, like Andualiem, we could all learn to share what we have.

Write a message about this to Andualem and others, starting with…

‘If we share…’

“Mum…Whose idea was it to bath the cats together?”

I shouted, walking out of the bathroom into the kitchen, dripping water everywhere.

“Oh sweetie! What happened to your shirt?!” she asked, glancing at me before continuing making my sandwich.

“Ugh,” I groaned, “Mystery spilled the orange cat shampoo on me I was trying to put it on her.”

“Maybe next time bath them separately, ok?”

She told me, looking at me again. She spotted the trail of puddles leading for the bathroom to me, and more puddling around my feet and sighed.

“Yes, yes,” I answered hurriedly before she could say a thing. “I’ll clean it up.”

Gus the Cat by Eva

It’s another boring Saturday morning. I’m waiting to go to the toilet which I have to wait for my brother every morning to get out so I can get in. He finally gets out and says it your turn to bath Gus which is his cat. I go downstairs to find Gus but when I see what he has done I scream my head off. He has poured all the orange paint all over himself. It is so mysterious. How does he do that?He loves anything that has to do with orange. I am so separated with the cat.

“No way, I’m not giving the cat a bath. Remember last time!” I shouted to mum.

Mum loves her cat but she never takes care of it. I really want a dog so I thought if I took care of Mr Snuggles I could persuade mum to get me one.

But last time I gave the cat a bath, it knocked down the orange scented washing powder all over me.

“He’s a mysterious spy cat whose mission is to drench you with washing powder” she laughed.

 “We’re separated now!” I snapped.

Mixed Fortunes

“Hello? Is anyone in there?”

When I heard no reply, I pushed open the cubicle door, locked it, lifted up my dress and sat on the seat.

“Ahh! This is the life. No Mum, No Dad and especially no whiny, clingy brothers.” My thoughts were interrupted by the swing of the creaky door.

“Excuse me? Paige, are you in here?” I ignored the sound of my brother, Liam’s voice. He knocked loudly on my door.

“Paige? Mum’s worried about you.” I stayed still with my mouth pressed shut. I heard Liam sigh.

“Well, I guess I’ll just have to tell The family that you don’t want to be there for the fortune cookie process.” I smiled. It was no secret that opening cookies was my favourite part of any Chinese meal.

“Wait, Liam. I think I’m finished now” I pulled the chain and rushed to the hand basin.

“There you are! Mum sent me in to fetch you.” I stopped.

“You do realise you’re in the woman’s…” Liam put a finger to his lips.

“Never speak of this!” I nodded, washed and dried my hands then walked out the door with Liam beside me.

“Oh look. Their’s a guy in your year” I pointed to some imaginary table in the corner. Liam quickly hid behind a nearby pot plant.

“Is he looking?” He asked. I laughed.

“Nah. I was just kidding there’s nobody there!” I giggled as Liam brushed a few leaves of his shirt.

“I knew that” he insisted.

We arrived at our table and I sat down.

“Here’s my girl!” Dad grinned

“His only girl” I reminded my six brothers, all sitting at the table. They all rolled their eyes.

“Your just in time for the cookies” one of my brothers, Justin said.

“Indeed” Mum nodded, obviously concerned. “Were you having any problems…” I sighed and rolled my eyes to stop her.

“Never mind that!” My younger brother, Will made a face. “Let’s us open COOKIES!” We all laughed and grabbed a cookie from the plate in the middle. We all read them out. Some were funny, some unconvincing. Soon it was my go. I cracked it open, peeked at the message and gasped…

What should happen next? What should the cookie say?

Zoe’s 100wc #22

One time I was looking for my mums house and I came across this funny looking pathway to my mums house. I didn’t know what the number was so I went to get my phone to txt my mum.

When I look back it was gone.

“Something is going on.”

So I went back home and I went back the next day and it was gone so I just left.
