My Teacher Took My iPod

A Funny School Poem for Kids

by Kenn Nesbitt

My teacher took my iPod.

She said they had a rule;

I couldn’t bring it into class

or even to the school.

She said she would return it;

I’d have it back that day.

But then she tried my headphones on

and gave a click on Play.

She looked a little startled,

but after just a while

she made sure we were occupied

and cracked a wicked smile.

Her body started swaying.

Her toes began to tap.

She started grooving in her seat

and rocking to the rap.

My teacher said she changed her mind.

She thinks it’s now okay

to bring my iPod into class.

She takes it every day.

This term children tried out for PSSA soccer , netball or opted to remain at school for sports like cricket. What sports do you like to play?

Genius Hour

Next term we will have a go at Genius Hour, sometimes called passion hour which is based on Google 20 percent time. I know you have been thinking of things you’d like to do. Here are some videos that might inspire you.

100wc

Throughout Term 1 we have been entering the 100 word challenge. I believe that you are doing a wonderful job of writing descriptively in just 100 words. I know you love receiving comments on your writing  and that motivates you. I know you also comment on each others’ stories.

Tell me how you feel about this opportunity to reach a wider audience. Please post your comments here.

3D shapes

In maths we have been learning more about 3D shapes. We know the difference between pyramids and prisms. We made skeletal models with sticks and play dough. It was easy to see the vertices and edges this way.
